BP Oil Spill

Its day 67 of the Deep Horizon oil spill and as each day ticks by I get more and more angry at the lack of urgency BP has on cleaning up this spill. Furthermore every time I see that BP commercial with Tony Hayward saying they are sorry and the "fake" tear coming out of his eye it just seems like such a slap in the face as whistle blowers pop up every where revealing that BP has cut corners for years all to save a buck for an industry that is richer than any other in the world.

My twitter page keeps filling up with sad images from the gulf and as the oil has now reached Pensacola beach, the reality of this situation just drives home the need to switch to alternative energy use. I understand that our plastics are made from oil and that there is a need for oil, but as I've researched this a little bit, I have found that if it weren't for the need for fuel, deep water oil drilling would not need to take place. We could get the oil we needed for every day use by other means.

So sorry! We have been watching lik e the rest of the country and praying this all comes to an end. I hope this final cap works and a final clean-up can start without the worry of more to come!

I agree with you that alternate fuel sources are a must. However, that won't be happening anytime soon. Not while the oil companies have so much power in this country.
