The Rise of The Middle East

Its late at night and I am sitting here watching on CNN all the stuff going on in Libya. After Egypt recently claimed their freedom after an 18 day protest against President Hosni Mubarak, The rise up against dictatorship type governments has increased in the Middle East with its focus now on Libya.

If Egypt can reclaim their country in 18 days, how long will it take Libya? Its now day 7 in Libya and despite Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi attacking his own people, point blank, and with air raids. Libyans are not scared. Anderson Cooper described this revolt as a flu spreading thru the middle east. I was relieved to hear that despite Moammar Gadhafi's air raid request to bomb a villiage with women and children, the military took its on action and flew their jets to another country. Later a cell phone video surfaced of 6 bodies of soldiers wrapped in tarps badly burned. No doubt as a threat from Gadhafi for those heading these revolts and to scare the Libyan people.
So I sit here thinking this is great. Its sad so many people have to die, but they are dying to claim their own freedom as any American would. They've been living in fear for decades and have had enough. People don't realize their own power until they are pushed to their collective limits. For a first time revolt against a harsh dictatorship to take just days, we are leaning more and more toward a peaceful Middle East. The people can rise up against their governments and extremist groups like the Taliban and push evil out. And I'm all for it.

I rarely post stuff like this on my blog, but I just felt that for so long the Middle East was this thing we couldn't really understand or talk about because its so complex, but now that we have a second middle eastern country in the middle of a revolt against their government, I feel huge changes will be taking affect globally for world peace.
What are your thoughts of the "goings on" in the middle east?
