So last night when I was reading my J Myster a story before bed, he fell asleep in my arms. At that time blankie was on our bed because he was watching Mickey Mouse Club House while I took a shower, and then at bed time we forgot it. Now if J Myster was awake when we tucked him in, there was no way he would have let us forget that blankie. But he wasn't awake and it was forgotten, left on our lonely bed while the hubs and I fell asleep and camped out on the couch together downstairs with Baby B.
At 3 am this morning the terror in my little guy's voice from the top of the stairs would have struck fear in any parent. With his voice trembling and cracking and as shrill as it could possibly be, "Dadda Dadda where banket, where banket go!?" J Myster just sobbed at the top of the stairs. Hunky Hubs jumps up and runs up the stairs to show J Myster that daddy put it on him right before we went to sleep last night.
I could just see the poor guy remembering that he didn't go to bed with it and even though he was covered with it, he probably sat up looking for it among the sheet and two other full length blankets that cover his bed at night and not understanding it was right there all along. I don't know when he will out grow his blanket but for right now if its a source of comfort for him, I am not about to take that away from him.
