Finally A House Warming Party!

We have lived here for a little over 3 months and finally we are having a house warming party. To recap, we moved into a foreclosure that sat unattended to for over 6 months, so it needed a little work, a little love and a little scrubbing and painting before we had our party.

But to recap on what we've been working on for the last 3 months, it first started off with well, moving in. Then the first thing we could do before we set up a bed in our bedroom was tear down a closet. Hunky Hubs started demolition. Our master bedroom had two closets and it just made the bedroom way too small. So he tore it down and when it was torn down, I painted that room. But we fell sick with the flu almost immediately after we moved in and we were living out of boxes for a few weeks while we nursed ourselves back to health. I then lost sight in my right eye and had to focus a lot of energy on trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with my eye going to several doctors scared out of my mind I wouldn't be able to see again. Today, I am still taking a steroid drop every few hours, but I can see almost 20/20! Lights still have halos around them and the moon still looks like mickey mouse, but my vision as far as my daily use, like looking at computer screens and doing daily tasks, are fine. However at the end of the day, I tend to start getting blurred vision, which I think is due to dry eyes.

So I first painted the master bedroom, which now looks like this:

Then we decided since I loved the color so much,we would use the same color in my office. So we painted the office second, while my husband tore down those seventies style wood paneling on the walls in his man cave and re dry-walled that room and turned it into the cave! Yes, each wall painted with his favorite sports teams and logos from the LA Kings to the Packers to St. Louis Ram's and even Dale Jr.

This was the office, before we painted:

And this is an office wall after:
The only part of my office that is clean at the moment. My desk is piled with papers I need to file. I have no filing system right now.

The next set of pictures is the entry way or foyer when you walk into the house and the stairs leading up, we painted it the same color as our dinning room that I just finished and the hallway leading to the upstairs bedrooms or downstairs living room area:

The color is called fresh peach!

I will take a picture of our living room later and share it, right now its scattered with toys and blankets from camping out and watching the Olympics.  The rooms we are waiting to paint include the kitchen the kids rooms/play room and the bathrooms and we are deciding on if we will paint the laundry room or not. I hope to take a little break from painting after our house warming party and establish every day life and routines with the kids for a bit before we paint the kitchen. I would like the kitchen painted before the holidays as we know from here on out, that the holidays will be at our house. I am truly excited about that!

So with our House Warming party this weekend I will be going thru each room this week and super cleaning it and making it look nice for our guests. So I will be on just sporadically thru the week and then after this weekend, I'll be posting a lot more often. Also I did not forget about the Weekend Blog Post Showcase, I will be by to read your posts this week, and the next one will be set up for this weekend even if I will "once again be pre-occupied" with our party.

Thanks everyone for stopping by and don't forget about these two memes. Remember the Pinterest Meme, you can join at any time, its open all week long and renews every Thursday with a new linky!
